Ever wonder what your infant is thinking, what she is interested in, why she is crying and possible worries. By introducing sign at an early age you can identify specific needs of your child and help eliminate guess work and reduce frustration for you and your child. An child that uses sign can give parents an insight into their little minds and intensify on an already powerful bond between parent and child. For young children signing allows them to clarify their message while also trying to succeed on word pronunciation.
This is the first programme of its kind here in Ireland to offer a comprehensive programme in child centred Irish Sign Language. Simply Signing focuses on signs related to a child's first words and environment.
By using spoken language and a visual language (Irish Sign Language) children begin to learn and understand language.
The programme involves learning signs, divided into different segments over a 5 week programme, 1 hour a week with parent and child introducing signs related to a child's first words and environment.
Parents will receive a colourful workbook of all signs learned along with our music CD, 3 posters and our I Can Sign badge to supplement their communication between parent and children. |
